5 DAYS GORILLA AND CHIMPANZEE TRACKING

DAY 1: NGAMBA ISLAND.

Early morning, you will transfer to Entebbe reaching in time for the morning boat ride to Ngamba Island the Chimpanzee Sanctuary on Lake Victoria. This Island habituates about 35 chimpanzees that are helpless in the wild. You will reach in time for their feeding and have a chance to watch them feed. You will have lunch and in the afternoon go for a nature walk on the Island. Later on you will be transferred back to Entebbe. Dinner and overnight at the Botanical beach Hotel / Resort beach.

DAY 2: TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE.

Drive from Entebbe and head west of Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable forest. You will have a lunch stop and then proceed reaching in the late afternoon. You will be welcomed by the neighboring local communities with cultural performances. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort / Buhoma tented Camp.

Primates Tour Activities

Uganda has the largest concentration of primates in the world. This is especially so in the Albertine region of Kibale forest national park which has 13 different species of primates from Chimpanzees to monkeys.

However, this 5 day primates tour will take you to Bwindi impenetrable forest national to do gorilla tracking tours and then to Ngamba Island chimpanzee sanctuary. Here you will be able to feed orphan chimpanzees and those that have been rescued from wildlife traffickers.

DAY 3 & 4: GORILLA TRACKING

Wake up early morning and go for briefing at the park headquarters after a light breakfast before embarking on the main activity in the park-gorilla tracking. This activity will start at 9:00 am and you will trail through the forest tracks that are steep and therefore you should ask for a walking stick if you need one. This is a strenuous activity but the ecstasy obtained on encountering these humble giants erases the poor memories you went through trying to find the find these apes. The time its takes to meet mans’ close relatives is unpredictable but it ranges between 2-8 hours depending on their movement. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest Camp / Buhoma Community Bandas.

DAY 5: END OF TOUR

After these exhilarating moments in the wild you will have to go back to the city. Transfer to Kampala to have a lunch stop in one of the towns of your wish.
