2 Days Bwindi Safari
Day 1- Transfer from Kigali City to Bwindi National Park
Our driver-guide will pick you up from Kigali airport or hotel for a cross-border transfer to Bwindi national park. The journey involves a scenic 4 to 5-hour drive through rolling hills and countryside, crossing the Cyanika/Katuna border into Uganda before arriving in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival in the afternoon, travelers check into their lodge for lunch and have the option to experience a Batwa cultural walk to learn about the indigenous people’s lifestyle. Dinner and overnight are spent at the lodge.
Day 2- Gorilla trekking begins
After an early breakfast, visitors prepare packed lunches and head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and safety measures. The trek into the dense Bwindi rainforest to find mountain gorillas can last from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on gorilla movements.
Once a gorilla family is located, trekkers spend up to one hour observing these magnificent animals in their natural habitat, taking photos and learning from guides about the forest ecosystem. After the trek, guests return to the lodge to refresh, then begin the drive back to Kigali, arriving in the evening.
